The art of drinking hot coffee

Now that I am a full-time mother of two wonderful children, you may wonder what I do all day … If not you can stop reading now.🙂

Between washing, breastfeeding, pick up and drop off at the daycare, preparing snacks and meals, play with lego, rock to sleep, story reading and baking muffins, I try to get out for a walk to get some fresh air…

Most of the time, several activities are performed simultaneously. As a mother you become inventive and multitasking whether you like it or not. One day has just 24 hours, as we know.

Often when breastfeeding I’m folding laundry while I’m on the phone. Yes, all at once with the phone handsfree.

Everything goes in some way even if vacuum cleaning is an activity that is always left over when it’s time to put the children in bed.

Another problem to solve is how to succeed in the art of drinking hot coffee. Every morning when I prepare my cappuccino or cafĂ© latte it seems like I will succeed, the situation is calm. But just when I’m done with the preparation it always happens something. Always, without exception. A baby diaper has to be changed, or my three year old can not find his socks … And I always find my coffee after a while, and many activities later, cold. Always.

Now I have found a solution of this problem. I’ll wait until Flavio is in the Kindergarten and then I put Livia in on the chest in the baby carrier, where she is always calm. Then I do my coffee and drink it hot and feel like a kangaroo mother. Perfect! The cleaning is still to resolve…

  1. Not only busy mums that has to drink cold coffee .. ask any chefs around the world. So soon you think you have time for a coffee – orders starts to come in. *smile Still I wouldn’t be able to be a mum of two small children, not built for that. SO hurra for Malin and all other mums. Malin, you have got it down to a teeth now. Enjoy your coffee.

  2. LOL know exactly what you talk about. My boys are 15 months apart and when they were small I had to juggle the kids, home and business. I got through it all but still don’t manage to make my first cup of tea in the morning without boiling the kettle at least three times….

    Ciao.
